Lab 6: Georeferencing Rasters

Not many problems in completing this lab. I don't like the line in between the two maps, but I'm not too sure how to get rid of it, other than try to be more precise with my georeferencing.

Lab 5: Data Search

Very, very difficult and time consuming lab. Very long load times working with Arc. I'd estimate that almost 3/4 of the time was spent on waiting for things to load/process. Just glad to be done!

Participation Post: Haiti

I'm leaving a link here to a interactive map I found on USA Today.

Pretty interesting, you can click on and off many of the subjects we have been discussing in the participation post.

Lab 4: Map Projections

I was never able to figure out how to make a table to display the county/area info, so I just ended up manually typing it in for each projection. Otherwise, I think the lab went ok.

Mexico Maps (Lab 3)

I didn't have any problems with this map. Just followed the directions, pretty straight forward.

I did run into a problem with this map. For some reason (most likely I didn't follow directions), I was unable to click on the 'convert labels to annotations' option. Couldn't figure out what I did wrong, so I just started all over. Followed directions correctly the second time around.

The problem I have with this third map is the labeling of the elevation. Is it in feet or meters? I was unable to determine just by glancing through the metadata and attribute tables. I'm sure its probably in there, I just don't know where to look.

ESRI Maps

Module 1: ESRI Maps

Just to let everyone know, be very careful when editing/deleting posts from your blog. It seems it is impossible to retrieve a post once it has been (accidentally) deleted. So............here I am posting the first week post again.

World Population

No real problems with this exercise. Just not sure about the placement of the compass/legend/scale bar/scale.
